pre-move planning trip
During our 10-day, pre-move trip to Guatemala we wanted to get an idea of the different ways we could partner with churches, organizations, and individuals to help these amazing people. To say that we were overwhelmed would be an understatement. We spent many days driving around the mountains of the Jalapa district meeting dedicated pastors that have a vision for building and expanding the church and reaching more people that are trapped in the depths of witchcraft and demonic religions. We got to visit the garbage dumps and to see a new project that is just rolling out where communal housing is being provided for single mothers and their adorable children. Thanks to Pastor Eliu, the right steps are being taken to help this group of people. Lastly, we got an eye-opening tour into Zone 1, the brothels, where room after room is being occupied or has a girl standing outside waiting for a customer. Some of these women have been trafficked from other countries, and some have been forced into it by the ruling mara’s, or gangs. One local church is stepping in to help these girls come to know the love of Jesus.
